Valentyn Gvozdiy was elected Vice-President of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Protection of Lawyers
On April 6-8, the first meeting of the Council is taking place in Strasbourg. Ukraine is represented by Valentyn Gvozdiy, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian National Bar Association, the Bar Council of Ukraine.
By December 2023, the Committee is expected to elaborate a draft legal instrument aimed at strengthening the protection of the profession of lawyer as well as assuring the right to practice law without prejudice or restraint. The future legal instrument should also constitute fundamental principles and rules which would safeguard human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
