Key insights from IT Meets from GOLAW Senior Associate

On 3 April 2025, Yevhenii Ahashkov, Senior Associate of the Corporate and M&A practice at GOLAW, participated in IT Meets “How to Achieve Business Growth: Legal and Financial Strategies 2025.“

The main topics of the meeting were Diia.City’s opportunities and benefits, the peculiarities of doing IT business under martial law, strategies for increasing competitiveness, and successful cases of selling IT companies.

The most noteworthy insights regarding Diia.City are the following:

  • Diia.City remains an effective tool for IT businesses, especially due to the possibility of obtaining the status of a critical enterprise and the reservation of employees eligible for military service;
  • the growing interest in the reservation of employees within Diia.City reduces the attractiveness of gig contracts;
  • IT companies highly appreciate the Diia.City office’s work as a convenient and efficient back office for residents;
  •  it is expected that under Diia.City Invest will be possible to create venture funds under a simplified procedure. The funds will invest in Ukrainian start-ups (Diia.City residents). According to the Diia.City office, they are currently trying to ensure that the fund can be established “within 7 days”;
  • Diia.City office also sees Diia.City Invest as an opportunity to attract capital that has accumulated in Ukraine under the NBU’s currency restrictions.

We thank the organisers and participants of the event for a productive discussion and exchange of valuable experience!
