What is trade secret protection?

A trade secret — formulas, client databases, technologies, know-how — is often the most valuable thing a company has, yet the most vulnerable: it can be taken out by employees, contractors or partners. Protection works only when a proper trade secret regime is established, not merely an NDA signed.
