TOP-5 myths about constitutional complaints: how does this tool actually work?

Constitutional complaints are one of the most important mechanisms for protecting human rights in Ukraine, allowing citizens to directly appeal to the Constitutional Court if their rights have been violated. However, despite its importance, this tool remains poorly understood by many, and there are many myths, misinterpretations, and exaggerated expectations surrounding it.

This is the topic of a new podcast in which Attorney at law of GOLAW Tetiana Opanasiuk and judge of Constitutional Court of Ukraine Halyna Yurovska debunk the most common myths about constitutional complaints. The experts explain who has the right to file a complaint, what requirements apply to the content of the complaint, why not every complaint leads to proceedings, and whether a decision by the Constitutional Court automatically means winning the case. In their conversation, they share practical examples, talk about typical mistakes made by applicants, and explain how to make this mechanism a real tool for protection rather than a formal procedure.
