GOLAW's new podcast features guest speaker Vitalii Urkevych, Secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court

Uniformity of judicial practice is essential for business and society to be stable. In an environment of constant legislative change, the key player in this process is the Supreme Court’s Large Chamber. In the new GOLAW podcast, speakers in-depth analysed the mechanisms of forming judicial precedents and ensuring the predictability of justice in Ukraine.

The main guest of the episode was Vitalii Urkevych — Secretary of the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court, Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Doctor of Laws and Professor. Together with attorney at law at GOLAW Tetiana Opanasiuk, he discussed how the Grand Chamber balances between adhering to established practice and the need to deviate from outdated legal positions.

During the discussion, the speakers covered a wide range of topics, from the implementation of European Court of Human Rights standards to working with the institute of pilot cases. They paid particular attention to practical navigation in the decisions of the Supreme Court, which is important for protecting the interests of businesses. The experts explained how lawyers and entrepreneurs can navigate the large number of court decisions and remain protected, even when legal approaches change.

We created this episode so you could take a behind-the-scenes look at the process of making important decisions. Watch the podcast in Ukrainian if you want to build reliable legal strategies, understanding the logic of those who determine the final positions of the Supreme Court.
