The GOLAW lawyers and their colleagues discussed the novelties and challenges faced by legal advisers in the course of their professional activities.

The GOLAW lawyers and their colleagues discussed the novelties and challenges faced by legal advisers in the course of their professional activities. The discussion was held within the framework of the V Annual Forum of Legal Advisers, at which GOLAW acted as an expert partner.

First of all, the Forum was interesting for lawyers engaged in advocacy and representatives of legal departments of large and medium-sized businesses.
Angelika Sitsko, Lawyer at GOLAW, moderated the session, in which experts discussed the prospects of the profession of legal advisers, introduction of the lawyer’s monopoly, establishment of a separate admission to the profession, and automation of certain administrative processes.

As part of the discussion on procedural novelties, Kateryna Manoylenko, Lawyer and Head of Litigation Practice at GOLAW, narrated about the main amendments to the draft Commercial Procedure Code. The lawyer clarified the issues related to evidence and proof in a modernised commercial procedure. In particular, she spoke about the procedure for submitting evidence by parties to the proceedings, electronic evidence, testimony of witnesses and their processing, as well as the possibility of ensuring availability of evidence.

The final chord of the Forum was the ceremony of awarding the best legal departments of leading Ukrainian companies. Thus, the GOLAW Partner Angelika Sitsko presented the award in the “Best Legal Department in the Agricultural Sector” nomination to the grain corporation COFCO INTL Ukraine.
