Evacuation of the enterprises from a war-stricken area to a safe territory
Due to the war, many Ukrainian enterprises were forced to cease their operations. However, under martial law, it is very important to support the country’s economy and maximally maintain the production facilities and labour potential. The government has launched a program to relocate Ukrainian productions to safe areas in order to ensure the domestic enterprises` operation.
Thus, enterprises located at the war-stricken areas or at the territories with a threat of hostilities, may receive government support in relocating the enterprises` facilities to the western regions of Ukraine.
The relevant support provides for the creation by the state the following conditions for:
- selection of places and necessary spaces for the accommodation of the production facilities;
- free moving to the place of temporary relocation;
- transportation and resettlement of staff;
- search for new employees after the moving.
It is important that the relevant evacuation takes place upon the own initiative of the enterprises. Therefore, if a business owner wants to move his/her production to the western regions of Ukraine, it is necessary to apply for the participation in the relevant program at the link.
It should be noted, that in order to organise the implementation of this program, on March 25, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a plan of urgent measures on relocation of the enterprises` production facilities.
For example, the plan proposes to consider the postponement of the terms of payment of interest on loans of the relocated enterprises in order to resume the production. It is also planned to work out the issues facilitating the leasing of the state and municipal property; issues facilitating the provision or transfer of land for the accommodation of the enterprises` production facilities.
Implementation of the evacuation measures is scheduled for March-May 2022.
As of today, a number of enterprises have already submitted the applications for evacuation. Therefore, if the enterprise is in a war-stricken area or there is a risk of damage or destruction of the production facilities, the business owners should immediately consider applying to participate in the program to maintain their own production and ensure its operation.
